@Improving operation efficiency according to the forrowing management philosophy:"We provide stable supply of safe and high quality water at a reasonable price"
@We will strive to meet the needs of water users and the general public based on the following management philosophy: gWe provide stable supply of safe, high quality water at a reasonable priceh.
@To that end, we carry out business efficiency under the motto of gkohkon-minsaih or gpublic soul and private know-howh, which means pursuing business operations as if in the private sector to address our public mission of supplying and managing water resources.
@JWA and Water Resources Development Public Corporation, the predecessor of JWA, produced numerous achievements including the conveyance of water of the Tone River to Tokyo metropolitan area that was dried up due to what is known as the gTokyo Olympic Droughth. JWA had constructed a lot of infrastructure such as multi-purpose dams of Yagisawa and Sameura etc. and canals of Aichi and Ryochiku-heiya etc. and implemented developing project of Lake Biwa and Lake Kasumigaura. The number of facilities under the control of JWA amounts to approximately 50 and the quantity of water resources developed by JWA accounts for 90% of all the water resources in seven major river systems (Tone, Ara, Toyo, Kiso, Yodo, Yoshino and Chikugo River Systems). These facilities play a critical role as lifeline systems in large metropolitan areas in Japan.
@Looking back upon the recent few years, several meteorological events, such as record-setting landings of typhoon and torrential rainfall in Niigata-Fukushima both in 2004 and severe drought followed by big flood which filled Sameura Damfs large reservoir overnight in Shikoku region in 2005, have occurred implying the influence of the global warming.
@From a global standpoint, there is concern that the food problem in the global scale relating to population explosion and water shortage crisis caused by climate change.
@In view of such situation, we will strive to ensure stable supply of water and tackle not only implementing environment-conscious projects and cost reduction of construction and facility management, but also tackle international contributions for solving water problems.
@In addition to that, we are going to enhance highly transparent agency
management.
@We would appreciate the understanding and support of water users and the public at large.
