Ibi Festival and Children's Kabuki [4-5 May]
Ibi Festival is said to start in Kyoho era (1716-1735) in Edo Period. During the middle of Meiji Period, dedication form to the shrine changed from dancing to Children's Kabuki performance.
Five districts collectively hold luxurious decorative floats (which are prefectural folk culture assets). They are gathered at Miwa Shrine and placed side by side to create the performance stage where local elementary students play Kabuki for two days from 4th till 5th of May. In addition on the 5th of May, men in pure white clothes carry 3 large and heavy portable shrines on their shoulders and march on the streets. Other smaller portable shrines are also carried on the shoulders, following the larger ones.

Tarai boat river cruise [April through early May]
On Suimon River, which runs around the central part of Ogaki City, short boat cruise either by regular rowboat (max. 6 on board) or by round-shaped rowboat (max. 3 on board) are provided during the peak spring season in 30 minutes. As the changing scenes of cherry blossoms in bloom being looked up from the cruising boat is just splendid, this cruise attracts a lot of visitors to the city during the high spring season. The disembarking spot is the spot of former port a famous Haiku artist of Edo Period Matsuo Basho described in his travelogue "Okuno Hosomichi" and is a nationally-designated place of beauty.
