Cooperation to Integrated Flood Management HelpDesk of World Meteorological Organization(WMO)
Japan Water Agency(JWA) decided to cooperate to Integrated Flood Management(IFM) HelpDesk managed by World Meteorological Organization(WMO) on the basis of request from the WMO.
IFM HelpDesk, which was established in the Department of Climate and Water in WMO on June 2009, is conducted by the WMO cooperative organizations as a service to teach how to create the policy of flood Management, strategy and organizational development to the countries that want to adopt IFM. So far, two organizations from Japan, International Centre for Water Hazard and Risk Management(ICHARM) and Japan Institute of Construction Engineering(JICE), have already participated in this activity.
JWA will also keep cooperation mainly in temporary staffing based on request from WMO in future.
