JWA started water supply support operations on, "the world natural heritage", Hahajima Island, Ogasawara Village, Tokyo
23 April, 2019
Japan Water Agency (JWA) started water supply operations on Hahajima Island, Ogasawara Village, Tokyo with the use of a portable disalination device from 6 April, 2019. The portable disalination device owned by JWA is capable of desalinating seawater and can be loaded on a truck, so it is easily accessible for any place looking for emergency water supply at the time of disaster.
This activity started to correspond to the support request from the village for water due to the lack of rainfall on that island since the end of last year, causing the possible depletion of the water there.
