Project Implementation Plan on Narita Canal Facilities Reconstruction Project was approved. 29 August, 2019

As Narita Canal facilities have been in service for about 40 years after completion, JWA applied for the "Project Implementation Plan" on the "Narita Canal Facilities Reconstruction Project" to carry out the repair and earthquake resistance reinforcement of its aging and deteriorating facilities. As a result, on 13 August 2019, the applied plan was granted.
This project implementation plan was approved by the competent minister, i.e., the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries after the consensus was built through the consultation with stakeholders, i.e., Narita Canal Land Improvement District, relevant prefectural governor, or the governor of Chiba Prefecture, and the related governmental agencies.
Narita Canal
Narita Canal supplies irrigation water to one city and three towns of Chiba Prefecture. In order to restore not only the original functions of the facilities but also secure the earthquake resistance capacity against large-scale earthquakes, JWA is promptly endeavoring to work on the survey and subsequent design of its facilities for repair and seismic reinforcement.
