200,000 m³ (about 40%) of concrete placement of the dam body of Kawakami Dam has been achieved!
7 July, 2020
We are pleased to announce that 200,000 m³ of concrete placement (40%) of the dam body of Kawakami Dam has been now achieved.
Kawakami Dam is the concrete gravity dam now under construction on the Maefukase River, a tributary of Yodo River System. The purpose of the dam is flood control, supply of domestic water and maintenance of normal function of the river flow, including the substitute water supply during sediment removal activity at other existing dams.

Unmanned Construction
An unmanned tower crane and unmanned concrete vibrators are used for concrete placement of the dam body of Kawakami Dam.
An unmanned tower crane can move a concrete bucket automatically by being set the location of concrete placement in advance by person. An unmanned concrete vibrator can make the judgement of the compaction of concrete automatically.
An unmanned construction technology using ICT technology makes dam construction safe with labor savings without high labor skills.
