Fourteen internal drainage
facilities (drainage pumps and sluice gates) were constructed
in six areas particularly vulnerable to flood damage in order
to drain water from rice paddies and the like that have been
inundated in a flood. |
To prevent flooding on bending
rivers, high-bedded rivers and the like, engi-neering projects
were undertaken to, among other things, raise embankments,
dredge and dig riverbeds and widen rivers. |
The Seta River was dredged
to increase its discharge capacity to facilitate water flow. |
