JWA is holding various events related to "Water Day"(August 1) and "Water Week"(August 1-August 7) July 29, 2017

August 1 is designated as "Water Day" and a week starting on August 1 is designated as "Water Week" by the Japanese government. As the beginning of August is considered the hottest time of the year in Japan, the government set those to raise awareness as well as deepen understanding among the people of the importance of water in that water resources are finite and so precious, thus water resources development is important.
To promote and disseminate this concept, Japan Water Agency is holding the related events at its respective local sites, as follows:

Urayama Dam

Stocking with sweet fish
Stocking with sweet fish
Location Outskirt of Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture (Kanto Region)
Time and Date August 6 from 10:00 to 16:00
Type of event Dam tour, including inspection gallery tour, as inspection gallery is very cool with the temperature staying at 15°C
Stocking with sweet fish (Ara River, downstream of Urayama Dam is famous for sweet fish fishing in summer)

Type of event Observation of Lake Kasumigaura from the boat (Cruise: 6 times, Applicants are limited to 50 people on a first come first served basis)
Experiencing water quality inspection (Watch specimens with microscopes and learn how to check the quality)
Showcasing JWA activities on the panels (quizzes will be given.)
Foot play in the well water (Experiencing the lake water bathing in the past)
